I must admit I considered doing the same.. by the way, sorry to take so long to answer, but youdidnt post your question to me.... I suspected however that would happen.. (ending up in a short) call them and explain you were confused with the merger/split etc, and ask them what can be done... luckily if you have to cover your short, you will not lose money... MG
