I can confirm the MP3 craze, and the fact that while IPODS dominated the must have list, there are many reasons why other brands were purchased. Availability is one, of course, but also the entry level mp3 user is getting younger. And price is a concern. I remember when one would buy an eight year old the "my first sony" cassette player for 80$. Now it is non unusual to see eight to ten year olds with small capacity mp3s as "starters". Hey, I bought em for my grandkids...then preloaded some of my cd collection for them. Old rock and roll, which they love. Easier to use, less breakable than cassettes or cd players...
