9/17/10 Update
Although enthusiasm was lacking among the Bulls, they once again managed to ward off the September jinx and the market had a decent week.
At Friday’s close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 2.05% YTD (vs. down -1.18% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 4.58% YTD (vs. up 3.63% YTD a week ago). The Contest median was up 3.54% YTD (vs. up 2.36% YTD a week ago).
The four Contest portfolios holding ARNA had much of their fat sliced off (sorry, couldn’t resist that) but, despite being one of the four, ROCKY’s portfolio (up 33.00% YTD) was able to hold on to first place. FILO's portfolio (up 23.23% YTD) remained in second place, with CRXL-charged WILDER’s portfolio (up 19.77% YTD) moving into the No. 3 position.
At Friday's close, 20 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black with 15 of the 32 beating the NBI.
