Dont be silly. Everyone and their brother was short the US$ heading into numbers that EVERYONE knew would be horrible. I came very close to buying gold puts yesterday. In the middle of a stable range no PPT was needed, just short covering by people playing what they knew to be horrid numbers. Where was the surprise? If there was no surprise why should there be a big move in the $? Mish
