The Enron mess is a graphic reminder of the urgent need for campaign finance reform, in my mind. We have so many elected officials beholden to so many special interest groups that our national policy becomes fractured.
One thing that has been of strong interest to me lately is the vociferious opposition by media groups to any meaningful campaign finance reform. Why? Because these lavishly funded campaigns are huge revenue producers for media companies, especially Television, cable and newspaper companies.
