I don't think you understood what i was saying. The nyse is automated and that is why your orders are automatically routed to a location other than the floor. Different brokers have different deals set up to direct their order flow, however they must provide a best price. The role of the floor broker is diminishing except for large orders. As you point out yourself, if your datek machine indicates your order is executed on the nasdaq( by the way, this is not the nasdaq in the typical sense, but it is an over the counter execution) there obviously is no role for a floor broker in an off the floor trade.
