Thomas; Some of the reasons for the assorted anti-trust laws speak to predatory practices. Oil barons selling oil at a loss in local markets until a competitor ran out of money and went broke/got bought out. It was seen that after the monopoly was secure prices arose from the dead to new highs. Of course with Intel the high tiers would just fail to fall if AMD et al were blown away.
So the FTC will take a long view of this, esp the fire break price ctructure versus AMD. That is a criminal act. Any one can see that AMD cannot fill demand, and for Intel to throw away $ is definitely predation.
