Wow! Much worse than the former head let on. This is nothing short of a scandal. This is the Federal Government SOAKING BUSINESS. This is the worst kind of dishonest, unethical, hidden taxation. I'll have to remember this next time the subject of "user fees" comes up. I'm sure Dan Rather will be talking about this tonight. SEC user fees, which currently generate $2.3 billion for the agency. This figure is roughly six times the amount needed to run the SEC. Revenue in excess of the agency’s budget becomes part of the Treasury’s general revenue and is used to fund other federal programs.
