I believe it is impossible on this showing to conclude that the Founding Fathers had little interest in religion at all, as far as they wrote or spoke.
That is pretty funny. I have just ONE of many books that has over 700 pages of small print quotes , many of which are from the founding fathers (not just Jefferson or Adams which get thrown in here so much) many of these men did not approve of the organization of the "church" yet they would still profess to following Christ.
ONE MORE TIME BOYS AND GIRLS,,.
The founders of this country made sure you had freedom of religion NOT because they did not believe but because they DID. They knew that no government could make you follow a sect(such as attempted in England) and was one of the very reasons for leaving there. I quoted the quote from Patrick Henry so often here, i will not post it again,,,,go look it up...and pretend to read it.
The very idea that most of these people who founded our nation wanted a Christian or Religious Nation is absurd
yea, nihil, they were absurd and you are normal....worldview matters not....read again.... they did not found an organized "{christian state" because most WERE Christian,,not because they weren't.. why not pray that the old Deceiver get off your back a little so you can see.
They wanted people to have the right to free exercise of religion in the privacy of their homes and churches,
that right?? hhmmmmmm ,....wonder what classifies as "home" or "church" wonder about Congress approval of 20,000 Bibles being imported?
Here the special Congressional Committee reported:
""The use of the Bible is so universal and its importance so great that your committee refers the above to the consideration of Congress, and if Congress shall not think it expedient to order the importation of types and paper, the Committee recommends that Congress will order the Committee of Commerce to import 20,000 Bibles from Holland, Scotland, or elsewhere, into the different parts of the States of the Union. Whereupon it was resolved accordingly to direct said Committee of Commerce to import 20,000 copies of the Bible." (Journal of the Continental Congress1774-1779, Washington DC govt. Printing Office,1905)
Hey nihil......they even protect your right to deny The I Am. If God lets you walk away, what makes you think a government can make you stay in a "state" run deal? |
