Grace, good point. The main concern is credit quality. The non bank lenders tap into the money markets to make foolish loans to foolish people to do foolish things -g- It is not unreasonable to expect some money market funds to suffer losses when the economy tanks. I suppose T- bills are the safest dollar denominated paper. mike
