Dan: just wandered into your thread, thought I'd post.
Here's favorites that I own...
DNP- it's a mix of electric utilities, nat gas utilities, telecom, utility bonds and reits...throws out a 7% dividend every month.
RFI- it's the best of the REITs, also 7% every month.
FMI- a mix of utility/telecom hi-yield bonds and stock, 8% div.
GASFX: everybody big and small in the natural gas business. it gives quarterly dividends.
PA- pimco advisors LP, that kicks out a hefty div...this should go in an IRA because the LP taxes are messy.
Many of the closed-end equity funds (CEFs) have a policy of throwing out 8% quarterly dividends...this works great in volatile markets when you only have a small amount of money to invest..check out AMO, GAM, GAB, RVT, convertible funds GCV, BCV, ECF..and there's others too.
Check out little brokers...SWS and BSC offer quarterly dividends.
Lurk on Burke's threads, we talk about CEFs sometimes over there. B
