CA has a list of all corporations who are mass laying off employees. Actually Ca requires that notification be given to employees of companies who employ I think it is sixty or more. In CA corporation name and employee lay off figures are available to the public. It is just a matter of searching the site which to me is not easy to navigate. If all states keep similar records I don't know.
