Kerry won the debate, but it was close. Why was it close? Because Bush managed to step over a very low bar. Bush didn't cry, he didn't bolt from the stage, but he rarely answered the questions and when he did he resorted to platitudes and insults.

Kerry was Presidential. He answered with specifics. He did seem tired at the end of the debate and struggled with the abortion and stem cell research questions. Overall, Kerry did a very good job.

Kerry: 2 for 2.
