This is a great topic. All political sides are part of the problem. The left hates the idea of subsidizing an energy company - they are all evil. The right hates higher prices for fuel. As a result we have a stalemate.

Energy independence is available. The political will to achieve it is not. The debate in many ways is similar to Social Security and Medicare - reasonable solutions exist - but the issue in elections is far more important.

Oh yeah - last week gas was less than a $1.30 last week here.
