The Israelis have had some experience with distinctly more malevolent characters than rock-throwing children. I don't approve of Israel's intransigent positions on most issues, and I think that the US should be using its aid package much more aggressively to move Israel into serious long-term negotiation. But when it comes to dealing with terrorism (do you have any other word for a madman firing off an assault rifle in a place of worship?) I have to admit that the Israelis know what they're doing. One good marksman in that room would have dealt with that clown much better than a disgraceful 12-year sentence. And any other clown with similar thoughts would have been given some serious food for thought. Steve
