Familiarity does not necessarily equate to knowledge. I know many PhDs who are decidedly ignorant and uneducated. It's nice that you've had the money to travel widely. It's too bad it hasn't seemed to make you an informed and balanced person. Same fallacy of the "Grand Tour" the aristocracy took in the 18th and 19th centuries. Helped some, ran right off the backs of others.
