my guess is the entrepreneurial types at USR/Div. of 3COM will come up with a trade-in program for those early model K56Flex modems which will beat out anything the modem mfr will offer, reinforcing USR's image and make the user madder yet at the outfit whose modem he bought only to have it outmoded by progress. The goodwill factor will outweigh the expense of taking in the obsolete "iron". Sometimes being a coveted "early adopter" works against ya. Dee Jay
