DELL had solid earnings (not spectacular). CPQ is even and they have a merger to contend with. Two things are more important than these though --
a) when they warned March 1, they took this quarter into account. That was a shrewd move because they lowered expectations to the point that they could beat estimates with even a dismal quarter...
b) if they couldn't beat estimates, they would have warned already. With 11 million shareholders and potential lawsuits galore, you don't fool around if you aren't going to make earnings.

When you judge INTC, remember the Pentium floating point problem. They weathered it, and solved it and you can bet that a company only learns this lesson once or the Street punishes them dearly...

I'm looking for a whopping 2% upside surprise on INTC, and this chip stock hammering is just the best buying opportunity of the year...
