PC MAGAZINE SELECTS CSi (COMPUSERVE
INTERACTIVE) FOR EDITORS' CHOICE AWARD

CSi Focuses on the Fundamentals of What Makes a Strong Online Service

COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- PC Magazine declared CSi the best online service in its May 6 issue. "Providing the best of both worlds, CSi, the progeny of venerable CompuServe Corp , delivers what we have come to expect from an online service while giving us complete and easy access to the Internet and so earns our Editors' Choice award," praised PC Magazine. In comparing the online services, PC Magazine commended CSi for refocusing on the fundamentals of what makes a strong online service instead of providing "splashy graphics and television metaphors."

Strengths cited by PC Magazine include reliable connectivity, unparalleled discussion Forum(R) areas, extensive file download libraries, a flexible and powerful e-mail client, an improved user interface and a fully functional version of Internet Explorer 3.0. PC Magazine also credited CSi's "solid roster of content and stellar databases of periodicals" as valuable pieces of the overall service. "CSi offers the greatest depth of content in the online world," noted the reviewers at PC Magazine.

The PC Magazine Editors' Choice award follows on the heels of several other recent honors earned by CSi. In February, NetGuide named CSi the number one online service provider for businesses. In March, CSi won Personal Computing magazine's "Readers' Choice" award as the best Internet access provider in Mexico and was voted Best Internet Provider in the Netherlands by readers of PC Consumer magazine. In February, NetGuide named CSi the number one online service provider for businesses. In addition, CompuServe's Internet access provider SPRYNET, was named Editors' Choice in the November 1996 issue of PC Magazine.

"Awards like these validate what we have said all along, which is that CSi offers the best value in the United States and internationally for sophisticated users of any online service," said Denny Matteucci, CompuServe's president of interactive services.

Founded in 1969, CompuServe Incorporated provides the world's most comprehensive online/Internet access through its two brands: CSi and SPRYNET.
