The multi-use processor based products will eventually ease some of the slot intensive add-ons that some pc manufactures are going through. You are already seeing network cards built into the motherboard, and sure eventually you will see modems built in. It is surprising to me that the sound card manufactures have not gone ahead and beafed up the DSP on their boards a bit and done modems with a multi-processing DSP o/s. This is more of a threat to the low-end modem manufactures, the ones that use Rockwell ATF chipsets, than to USR. Maybe this means we will see the end to products coming from the 3rd tier modem manufactures... I will have to look up that article... Jon
