DOYLESTOWN, Pa., Aug 2, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Collectible Concepts Group, Inc. (OTC:CCGR) today announced that it has acquired Rooter Rattle Sports Specialty Company of Wayne, PA for an undisclosed amount of stock and cash. CCGR, in March, had entered into a Letter of Intent to acquire the company, which had 1999 sales of about $1 million.
Rooter Rattle produces licensed sports novelties with the league and team logos of Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball, National Professional Soccer League, American Hockey League, East Coast Hockey League, Class of 2000 and Arena Indoor Football. The company, formed in 1992 by President James Onufrak, at present, has some 900 active accounts at major sports venues and retail outlets. Rooter Rattle's product line includes its signature product the Rooter Rattle (a shaker/rattle/pom-pom combination), hair accessories displaying team logos, such as headbands, scunchis(R), barrettes and bows, apparel, and other novelties.
Peter Brown, CCGR's National Sales Manager, noted that, "One of the first orders of business will be to create a Web page for the Rooter Rattle product line, place Rooter Rattle's products into CCGR's existing distribution channels, and plug our products into the channels Rooter Rattle has developed so well. We will also bring new licenses into the fold while extending distribution into entirely new channels. We expect very strong sales increases as a result."
