Wow what a great thread. Some questions with some meat to them. Was jesus a political execution? IMO yes it was, under roman law to be executed you had to commit a crime that fit that punisment. The crime was nailed above his head, King of the jews. Does this undermine christain belief? IMO no it does not,it only makes it stronger. God was able to use the most powerfull government in the world to fullfill the prophecies. As jesus was hanging on the cross he was quoting prophecy.The prophecy is psams 22.
