Ron.. depends on what applications you will be running and what type of piping you have to your machine. If you are connected (computer to outside world) via copper wire, a 166HZ Pentium is satisfactory with the standard x2 or 56k modem of which 56k will never be utilized anyway (due to the natural limitation of copper wire) but your machine will have newer technology; but, if you are connected straight through to you ISP via fiber-optics then you may need a better fiber optics interface box interfacing your computer internals with the fiber cable to your ISP.
