The United Nations has not lived up to it's opportunity as a world body to protect citizens of the world from political hegemony. Therefore for the UN to remain a viable organization on a world scale; all participating governments must submit to certification. Said certification is centered on not the current manner and methods of political assessment, but the governments legitimacy as it relates to goals of the local populations. All governments should meet standards, for facilitating freedom and democracy, should be willing to submit themselves to a certification process that demonstrates each governments authenticity as it relates to the health, welfare, and economic growth of it's greater population. The UN has become Less than it's ideal precisely because it is about Politics, not better government. Perhaps we on SI can help draft new statements of principles for UN Government certification.
