Re: Bad taste to trivialize Martin Luther King, Jr. in ice dancing.

Worse taste for Dubya to trivialize war in Korea or Iran.

I nonconcur with your statement. It is excellent taste to remind the world of Dr. King's important message in any venue we can. What I find to be in unfathomably bad taste is why we need to play that insipid and unmusical Star Spangled Boner every time some home grown athlete gets it right by 0.01 second. Like, is that the same as winning the War of 1812? (You do recall the Battle of New Orleans was fought two weeks after the war ended, right?)

And what does all this nationalistic jingoism and fervor have to do with athleticism, anyway?

Re: Karl Rove, likes to show W strut like a peacock in
front of the military.

Our very own Shah. Gosh, aren't we special. Dubya reminds me of the useless consort that Katherine the Great of Russia deposed a few centuries ago. What was his name? Tsar Peter III? He loved to prance in front of his troops, in a most childish manner. Until Kronstadt.
