Some excerpts from Bloomberg Business News:

Robertson Stephens & co analyst George Robertson reiterated a "buy" rating on the San Diego based company, saying the recent weakness in Qualcomm shares represents a "a buying opoortunity".

JP Morgan Securities analyst Greg Geilling initiated coverage of Qualcomm with a "buy" rating. He predicted shares will hit 57 in the next 12 months as company's code-division multiple-access wireless technology grows in popularity among wureless communications companies.

Robertson estimates Qualcomm will earn 98 cents a share in fiscal 1997, ending in September. Geiling estimates fiscal 1997 earnings at $ 1.25 ( wow, my own comment ). The company is espected to earn $ 1.15 in fiscal 1997, according to a survey of five analysts by IBES International Inc.

Both analysts noted that recent negative news hurt Qualcomm shares.

So, again in trading range: buy in high 30, sell in high 40 ?
