Okay their historical record on making projections is lousy, and I agree that depending on how they define things they can easily be off by a factor of 2, or more. But someone has to make these projections, and as imperfect as they are they're all we have until someone invents a better crystal ball. Look at eps projections where we have 100's of people making calculations and plugging them into derivative capm models. Still very imprecise but I like that better than driving by feel.
