Hello Don, Reading your referenced news analysis item Message 18642040 , as an international investor, I am worried.

At the natural rate of unimpeded progression of apparent trends, soon the US will only have democratic UK, isolated-for-whatever-reasons Israel, and a bunch of grubby tinpot dictators, and national-geographic styled banana republics for geopolitical and moral pals, that is until 80% of Britons boot out Tony Blair by electoral wish.

You being an admitted investor of currencies and such, I am wondering what you think that a USD is worth in such a world?

Well, I guess it is worth one USD, but is it worth more or less than 1/1000th of an ounce of gold.

I am guessing that it somewhat hinges on whether the war achieves its goal of bringing democracy and enlightenment to some parts of the world, along with prosperity and hope. I am concerned that the folks in charge do not know a plan if they saw one, much less making one, and are only able to talk about goals, and force short term outcomes, and then paper over the consequences with fiat paper and cover up with green ink.

Chugs, Jay
