Since I have the software and the database backed up on a removable hard drive, I probably could've redirected the application to read and write using the external drive. Pretty much all of the application writes would no longer go to the defective fixed drive. Eventually, it would fail but I could've bought time. I dug around some of the online sites. They've scrapped the breadth charts and tables, The shift from actively managed mutual funds to indexed ETFs with 40% weighting in seven stocks could go on for a long time. I have a decision to make before the monthly billing.
