It's probably just a depressed biotech sector. Take a look at the other stocks that Michael Murphy in his California Technology Stock Letter has targeted for a share price of $100 or more by 97-99. The "paid" price is the price as of 2/97: SYMBOL 7/30/97 PRICE 2/97 PRICE GAIN/LOSS % AMLN 13 1/16 14 1/2 -9.91 ARRS 11 3/4 14 1/2 -18.97 HGSI 33 37 1/2 -12.00 ISIP 13 1/4 18 7/8 -29.80 LGND 13 1/4 12 1/8 +9.28 RZYM 8 1/4 11 7/8 -30.53 SQNA 9 3/4 15 1/8 -35.54 SUGN 13 1/2 12 7/8 +4.85 VICL 11 1/8 17 -34.56 On the other hand, it could be market makers shaking out the deadwood in anticipation of a collaboration or merger that could goose the price. I have a hunch it's the latter, but that may be wishful thinking. In any event, VICL is worth a lot more than $11. I wish I had the bucks to average down here.
