very true...in a bull market. if this is not a bull market anymore, these statistics aren't worth #$%. note that Shaeffer is 'short term bullish' since 08/23. the Dow so far topped out on 08/25. since the table looking at prior VIXD spikes dates from '89 to present, obviously bear markets have not been included. however, it seems to work for today so far<ggg> regards, hb
