Lots of people like to make stmts like that; and, like to dismiss the analyst role for various reasons. It's very superficial. Anyone who has consistently used research from reputable sources knows better. The work goes much deeper. The commonality in most is that they generally conform to the limited guidance they get from companies which is generally updated guidance on the next qtr and full current year.
