Netscape(R) Personal Finance Channel visitors can receive current news, stock quotes and historical charts and graphs with support from TIBCO.net, a new Internet information service from TIBCO, the Silicon Valley subsidiary of Reuters Group PLC, the international news and financial information services company. At the core of TIBCO's content engine is middleware or "plumbing" software used by every major stock exchange in the world and more than 400 banks and financial institutions. The software TIBCO.net employs is used by NASDAQ, Yahoo!, E*Trade and hundreds of others companies that need to integrate thousands of pieces of news and financial information and disseminate it over computer networks that can handle traffic from millions of users during a single day. "Netscape is able to deliver valuable financial information services to millions of consumers around the world with the help of TIBCO.net software," said Jerrell Jimerson, vice president of consumer programming for Netscape Netcenter.
