Teknion introduces Halcon Wood casegoods to Canada
Addition of Halcon's elegant, award-winning office furnishings extends Teknion's wood product offering in Canada
TORONTO, Dec. 6 /CNW/ - Teknion Corporation (TSE:TKN), an international leader in office furniture design, manufacturing and marketing, announced that it will be manufacturing and marketing in Canada two lines of its U.S.-based subsidiary Halcon Corporation's award-winning, high-end contract wood furnishings - Gemini and Agenda(TM). Prior to this introduction, these Halcon products were available only in the United States. Other select Halcon occasional and conference table lines will also be available in Canada. "The addition of Gemini and Agenda solidifies our wood casegoods product mix by complementing our Leif Jacobsen offering in Canada," said Frank Delfino, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Teknion Furniture Systems Limited. "It also strengthens our presence in the architecture and design community, in which this product has a very special appeal. Halcon's product design and quality ranks with the best in the industry, anywhere, so we are extremely pleased to be able to offer it to the Canadian market."
Gemini Gemini is an elegant furniture collection with a classic contemporary feel. This innovative product was designed by Edward F. Weller III to respond to the changing work environment. It is unique in that its mobile desks and pedestals can be oriented and docked in unlimited positions in relation to the workwall or credenza. The design premise incorporates details, shapes and materials that provide a balance to the hard edge of modern technology.
Agenda Agenda meets the needs of the modern office by incorporating elements to support the organization and storage of information and electronics. Realizing that "most people work in piles," designer Brian Kenneth Graham reclaimed valuable workspace by including vertical and horizontal dividers between the worksurface and upper cabinetry for easier file, data and reference material management.
Agenda and Gemini also comprise elegant occasional tables and conference tables - the latter with pop-up intercept units that provide quick power and communications plug-in access. Conferencing products including AV cabinets, floor and teaching lecterns, mobile easel, visual presentation cabinet, and equipment and food service carts complement the product mix.
Additional Occasional and Conference Tables
In addition to Agenda and Gemini occasional and conference tables, Halcon's Bristol, Cadence, Carillon and Millennia occasional tables, plus Attach‚, Bristol, Cadence, Carillon, Courier, Millennia and Symphony conference tables will also be available across Canada. Halcon Corporation was acquired by Teknion in January, 1999. Founded in 1977 and based in Stewartville, Minn., Halcon is one of the leading designers, manufacturers and distributors of custom-designed, high-quality hardwood office desks, tables and other casegoods and office furniture products in the United States.
