Name change.......... Monday April 23, 9:05 am Eastern Time Press Release Peacock Financial Initiates Name Transition to Broadleaf Capital Partners SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 23, 2001--The board of directors of Peacock Financial Corp. (OTCBB:PFCK - news) today announced that it has initiated an incremental name transition and brand repositioning process.
Introducing the new corporate identity, Robert A. Braner, interim president and managing director, said: ``Consistent with the restructuring that began late last year and the major internal changes already implemented within the company, we have selected a new name intended to better reflect the company's new business strategy and direction, and to differentiate the present operations and management team going forward from what went on before.
``The company will now be known operationally as Broadleaf Capital Partners. The final legal name change, requiring shareholder approval, will be implemented at a subsequent shareholder meeting anticipated to be held within the next few months.
``In the meantime, we are actively engaged in the re-branding process, working on modifications to Web sites, printed materials and the like. We have identified a new ticker symbol reflecting the new name.
``However, until such time as we can announce that the official name change has been ratified by the shareholders and that our application for a new symbol has been approved, we will continue to use the existing symbol, PFCK, and issue press releases under the name Peacock Financial Corp.''
Braner added: ``Once a corporate identity becomes well known and holds a large following -- as we do with our broad shareholder base -- the decision to make a major change to the name and brand must be carefully considered. However, given the complete restructuring of the management team, the board and our corporate strategy going forward, we felt it important to transform the company's identity as well.
``Numerous requests were actually received from our shareholder base and the focus group for such a change. We appreciate and are counting on the continued support of our large shareholder base in our ongoing efforts to revitalize the company, and to build a dynamic and growing business with a share price that reflects that growth.
``We ask that our shareholder base help us spread the word of the company's transformation and new identity to help insure maximum continuity and facilitate an orderly and effective transition.''
