Tom Harkin Spits On U.S. Military Iowa Senator Tom Harkin: "What we were told and what you saw in the press last fall and earlier this year is that he had a massive war machine. I don't know what else we're going to find, but they didn't fly even one airplane in the air. They had almost nothing. So if they were that weak, where we could just roll over them like that, tell me again how he was such a big threat in the past?" None of the predictions of the left occurred, so now what does the left do? Denigrate the United States military. In the face of one of the most startling victories in the history of military conquest, the left, led by Tom Harkin seeks now to humiliate our military by saying Saddam was a paper tiger. He was nothing. Well, senator, I'd like to see you organize an army, tell it to go conquer, take a country and neutralize it in three weeks - especially with the defense budget you Democrats authorized.
