Newmont downgraded by HSBC
By Todd Flagg
28 Mar 2007 at 04:06 PM

Shares of Newmont [NYSE: NEM] dropped as an analyst with HSBC downgraded the rating of the company.

Because of production declines ahead and few growth drivers on the horizon, HSBC reduced the rating of the company from “overweight” to “neutral.”

Newmont gave up $1.01, or 2.3%, to close at $42.72 on the New York Stock Exchange. The stock has traded between $39.84 and $59.70 in the past 52 weeks and is down about 13% in the same period.
