To be honest, I'm not an equity analyst, but an industry analyst, so I don't know what this stock should be valued at. But I do know that '97 will be the year of the ORB, VSGN has one of the best CORBA ORB implementations and will be integrated with Netscape's next browser, and has excellent management - Roger Sippl and the Post Modern group.
There are four things the "open" group [Netscape, Sun, Oracle, etc.] needs to defeat Microsoft - browser, Java, CORBA, and compound documents. VSGN and Iona [and some systems vendors] provide the Java ORB. IBM/Apple's OpenDoc, combined with Java, provide the compound documents. |
