Hi Philip!! KNIC's Pres/CEO - Louis Knickerbocker has many contacts who know of his expertise in marketing products. He started marketing products together with Lowel "Bud" Paxson, when Bud founded The Home Shopping Network back in 1988. That good reputation follows him today. So Scott Dunlop, the then co-founder of Pure Energy in June/1995 approached Lou after an exhaustive search for venture capital that proved unsuccessful. He knew Lou had the great marketing ability and experience in taking a brand new product from its infancy to maturity as he proved in working with Bud Paxson at HSN. So Scott Dunlop decided the give KNIC 40% of Pure Energy, in exchange for Lou being involved in the process of taking Pure Energy's fuel to market. Lou Knickerbocker would have to take over as CEO/Chairman/President and in charge of building the company. The official 40% purchase( which was since diluted to 38% after DLJ bought a 5% stake) came about around March/1996. They have come a long way since, as you can see from my previous write-ups. As far as on the NET is concerned, the best place to start is ofcourse, at the SEC's Edgar cite, to check out their financials. To check out and read their previous news releases, go the Wall Street Journal Interactive edition and go into the KNIC briefing book. Knic also owns a cyber-shopping mall at a cite called CYBERTOWN, and they also sell some of their products through the Knickerbocker Direct shopping mall.
