I think people are being spooked by the prospects of Intuit being acquired ... I don't think any company in its right mind will pay more than $1 billion for a company which couldn't make a decent buck ... and at the same time face Microsoft ... A lot of software companies have survived in the last few years by carving a niche as far away as possible from Microsoft's long shadows ... why would anyone spend a lot of money to be under that shadow? At some point the trend will resume ... and the single digits will be within sight
