I did experience a bit of bursting at times but that may have been my trying to do too many things at once with my 56k net connection

All I had going was qcharts. There was plenty of spare bandwidth. I never realized how vital the flow of data was to my "feel" of the market. The pace of the prints and the speed of buyers buying eating away the ask tells me so much.

A 3 second pause and then the stock jumps one way or another completely destroyed my ability to trade as it happened over and over again. Next time it gets like this I will refuse to trade. If it happens too much more then I guess I need to pay up to a more reliable service (is there one?)

Question to anyone: When I switch servers (ctrl-alt-n) I seem to get a varying # of choices. Sometimes I can cycle through 6 or so and sometimes only 3.
At the end of the day today it insisted on giving me only one server, and that one was very bad. I assume there is something that is giving me servers that are most lightly loaded-- is this correct?
