Milt, I checked the home page this morning and this employment opportunity is there (updated as of Aug.28th). Also, I noticed that from what Ampex belives, Keepered media has advantages over MR heads. Also, over the weekend I was talking to an expert in the area of disk platters technology -he believes that Keepered media definitely has potential and is proven. In terms of technical details, it involves putting another layer of material (Nickel with some other material), which converges the magnetic field from the read/write head to minimize the spread and converge the field on the bit the head is writing or reading. Looks like Ampex is going to market this aggressively in near future. Also, they will start shipping DST 810(virtual disk system) by end of September. So, it all looks good. Just a matter of time.
