Bill,

Perhaps a collection could be started, of [reference deleted] releases from sexi, mtei, ovis, rmil, bxm, ctrn, etcs, ivht, smek, malb, idid, ipmcf, naxof ... you know, like that.

When I first discovered the Webnode prank, I thought that whoever was behind it was pretty clever to get a press release for such an company out on a news wire. After doing a little review of some of the past scam threads, it looks to me that [reference deleted] has been printing just about anything, for several years.

NIVD International used [reference deleted] to spread numerous press releases that contained misleading, fraudulent information, as admitted to by one of the "perps" in court. Here are a few early examples from the NVID thread:

14-Aug-1996 #reply-221935 SARASOTA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 1996--NVID International Inc. (OTC BB:NVID) announced
Wednesday that in trial applications with several veterinarians, NVID's Microsafe F-5 has shown to be effective in the
treatment of large animals.

20-Aug-1996 #reply-231998 SARASOTA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 20, 1996--NVID International Inc. (OTC BB:NVID) announced Tuesday that they have successfully completed in house testing using their newest product Microsafe F-5 in the veterinary market. Several tests were done to show that Microsafe F-5 could effectively treat infections on large animals when applied topically.
...President Bob Bunte stated: "We are extremely happy with the
results we have shown with these tests. When other products were
unable to cure these infections, our product has proven to us its
effectiveness and need in the veterinary market."

Bunte was indicted by the grand jury on Tuesday, Sept. 23rd by AUSA Michael Runyan for mail, securities, wire fraud and interstate trans of stolen property.

From the trial: 11-Mar-98 #reply-3669912

TAMPA -- Hunched over, but with his voice still strong, former NVID International President Robert Bunte told a jury Tuesday that he had been president in title only.

In testimony and cross-examination that lasted most of the day, Bunte tried repeatedly to persuade jurors that his big mistake at NVID was not fraud, but complying too readily with the man who he says ran the Sarasota-based company without a formal title, Matthew Klenovic.

Klenovic, faced with federal fraud charges when the two were arrested last spring at NVID's South Tamiami Trail headquarters, signed a guilty plea in the fall and has been cooperating with prosecutors. Klenovic testified last week, saying Bunte was to blame for many of the penny stock company's illegal actions.

Bunte was subsequently found innocent by jury.

TAMPA -- Robert Bunte was found not guilty Monday of any wrongdoing in his fraud-via-the-Internet trial stemming from the Sarasota-based penny stock company NVID International Inc.

Some NVID followers were suprised by the verdict:

I too am amazed that Bunte was found not guilty, but agree that too sharp of a contrast was painted in calling Klenovic as a wittness. Klenovic, having serious charges in the past and a history as a pathological liar didn't pose him as a great candidate for
credibility. I am wondering how Bunte, after recieving training as an accountant, could be so naiive as to buy into the news releases, and am willing to bet that in the back of his mind, he knew something was awry, but was soooo busy enjoying the home and the home decor and the gentleman's club, that he paid no mind to some very, extrememly, really, obvious red flags that should have been really, very, extremely apparant to him.

I believe that the jury was being extremely generous with the "beyond a doubt" approach ... Bunte, as an accountant, truly should have known better than to believe that the illegal transactions that he was participating in were sweet and innocent. Bunte, being trained as an accountant, assigns to him the expectation for a certain degree of common sense. Whoa, I am amazed.

P.S. Other news services were also used for circultating information besides [Reference Deleted] I first heard of NVID through Raleigh Baughman's newsletter that he calls the Phantom (I think). Later in the thread we learned of Kerry's newsletter.
#reply-3313910

Kerry's newsletter is of course the "Bacon Butt News Service" aka BBNS.

P.P.S. I forgot that Pugs had been by to visit the NVID thread as well with a rediculous rant about the large naked short position:

All NVID shareholders should do the math. You'll see a very large ,naked short position here. s martin & co.are here to see this baby get to terminal short!

Fundamentals are not the issue, whether NVID acted with intent or not, this stock has been ILLEGALLY SHORTED. So the shorters never have to cover, the 's martins'' come in to finish the job. Just know that the shorters on this stock are doing what they accuse the co.of doing....something ILLEGAL!!

The only way shareholders can protect their investment is to DEMAND their shares in NAME form, DEMAND YOUR CERTS!!! PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT AGAINST ILLEGAL NAKED SHORTING, Don't be fooled by shortsellers who point out the sins of this co. when they themselves are shorting it ILLEGALLY!
