Belden's New 50 Ohm RF Coaxial Cables Offer Water-Block Protection in Wet Environments
biz.yahoo.com
RICHMOND, Ind., March 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Belden Electronics Division, a unit of Belden Inc. (NYSE: BWC) and a leader in the development of wire and cable products for a wide range of applications, announces three new additions to its line of Low Loss 50 Ohm Radio Frequency (RF) transmission cables. The new coaxial cables feature a gel-filled interior construction to provide superior water-block protection when used outdoors in excessively wet environments. Belden's Low Loss 50 Ohm RF cables are designed for use in demanding wireless network and wireless broadcast applications (i.e., voice and instrument mics, headsets and other audio/video equipment).

They feature gas-injected foamed high density polyethylene (HDPE) insulation and a Belden DuoBond® II+ 95% tinned copper braid shield with water-blocking gel. All three cables are polyethylene (PE) jacketed and 100% sweep tested to 6 GHz to assure performance in high-frequency applications. The water-blocked cables are available in standard lengths of 500 ft (152 m) and 1,000 ft (305 m).

Belden's 50 Ohm RF coaxial cables provide best-in class transmission performance by providing the best VSWR, loss and velocity of propagation characteristics; excellent phase stability relative to both temperature and flexing conditions; and superior EMI/RFI shielding for greater noise reduction. Their rugged, yet flexible, construction assures ease of installation and routing, and their high-density material properties provide excellent crush resistance to minimize impedance variations and return loss, both before and after installation.
