I am going to post this again because I believe it's important:
To all who read this, please email this message to Mr. Gore along with your name: Dear Mr. Vice President:
You have worked very hard to achieve the pinnacle in politics and are to be admired for this. However, pending the results of the Florida expatriate absentee ballots, this tax paying citizen believes that the time has come for you to concede the election for the following reasons:
1. The whole world is watching and the American people are too.
2. Demagoguery, legal maneuvering and grandstanding by either side will result only in bitterness, cynicism, and a weakened form government.
3. Two recounts have cast the Florida results to Bush’s favor. Should the absentee ballots maintain or increase the margin for Bush, the time for you to stop is NOW.
4. By persisting with legal challenges and public posturing at this time, your organization is jeopardizing the integrity of the imperfect, yet crucial, foundation to our democracy that is the Presidential election system.
5. The millions of Americans with investments in the stock market have suffered substantial economic losses this past week as a result of the uncertainties created by the Florida ballot complaints lodged by your campaign.
6. The events since election day make us appear weak and divided to our enemies overseas.
7. Various AP reports clearly link the origin of lawsuits and complaints to Democratic party activities, which began before Florida poll closings on election day. The American people know this and do not view these legal and public relations challenges (to the balloting) as representative of the will of the people.
Please do not allow your organization to disrespect the people any further. Do the right thing and concede NOW.
Very respectfully yours,
