I don't know if it is a reflective LCD on a silicon substrate.
Here is a recent description of the device. So far it is only
being used in the Forte Technologies VFX1 virtual reality
headgear. Did you see that at the convention?
KOPIN CORPORATION ANNOUNCES COLOR FLAT PANEL LCD
TECHNOLOGY BREAKTHROUGH

Company Demonstrates Newest Color AMLCD SMART SLIDE

with Resolution of 1,500 Lines Per Inch

SAN DIEGO, May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- At the Society for Information Display 1996 International
Symposium, Seminar & Exhibition, Kopin Corporation (NASDAQ:KOPN) today announced that it
demonstrated a new, full color version of its active matrix liquid crystal display (AMLCD) SMART
SLIDE(TM) imaging device with resolution, speed and density levels that far exceed the capabilities
of traditional LCDs.

The new 800 X 600 (SVGA) SMART SLIDE imaging devices have resolutions of approximately
1,500 lines per inch, compared with resolutions of 100 to 120 lines per inch in AMLCDs used in
today's laptop computers. The SVGA SMART SLIDE contains approximately 500,000 pixels in an
active area of 0.3 square inches, which is smaller than an ordinary postage stamp. The displays
operate in both a monochrome mode or in a full color SVGA mode using a proprietary Kopin color
sequential process. The Kopin process generates color images at fast speeds, ideal for displaying
color video or computer images. These extremely dense, high-resolution, SVGA SMART SLIDE
imaging devices are targeted for use in future generations of Kopin's head-mounted display systems
for industrial, computer, entertainment and military applications as well as in lightweight, portable
projectors.
