No wonder why Turkey is opposed to an invasion of Iraq. I watched Leher News Hour tonight. I didn't realize what a mess we created for Turkey in the Gulf War. The Gulf War caused a terrible recession in South Eastern Turkey because of the trade sanctions. This gave rise to the formation of the PPK and civil war when Turkey put down the PPK. Now Turkey fears the Kurds in Northern Iraq will unite with the Kurds in Southeastern Turkey. We can be creating a bigger mess by an Iraq invasion.
