I watch, from time to time, for information on information transmission over power lines, but do not really see anything much. I have really only heard of experimental trials in highly controlled circumstances, similar perhaps to DSL of a few years ago. With the real-world conditioners/repeaters/meters... that must be on the power lines I would guess that there are major hurdles to overcome before roll-out can actually occur. Can you point to any sites that would flesh this out some?

My point to Jim was partially tongue-in-cheek, because the threat is so nebulous at this point, but it is something I want to start paying more attention to/get more info on. That and FBBW are two infant technologies that I believe may represent "paradigm changes" (God, I hate that phrase!) that threaten both DSL and Cable. Not today, but in 5-10 years.
