Robin and all:

I would like to see Rhodes go but I don't see how the current Board could be moving against him since there are 3 new members who must have been basically brought in by him. I would like to know how he regained the confidence of the original Board and got control back after his planned departure had been announced. Paul implied he had a game plan and got the Board back on his side. What could the game plan have possibly been? what did he tell the original Board members to convince them he could carry out some kind of successful approach, plan, or strategy?

It certainly seems possible that Rhodes could be sending the company down the drain. He did not put much of his own money into his stock and option holdings and doesn't stand to lose much there. If he is wreaking damage to prln then others in competition with prln can benefit in various ways and compensations of various sorts can be provided in various ways to those aiding the effort (such as Rhodes). In fact, the greater the potential of various prln technologies, the greater the motivation for competitors to foil prln. For instance, if Rhodes did pawn off the ah immunoassay technology to DOW then maybe he one day gets appointed to some big company's Board (a Board position which entails a nice salary and many perks), not necessarily the Board of DOW itself but probably a big company which, big surprise, DOW has considerable influence with. Further, with respect to the ah immunoassay technology, it doesn't matter if DOW ever makes use of it---they more than likely wanted it not to use it but to make sure it wasn't used by anyone. DOW Environmental is, no doubt, primarily a nice looking publicity facade cloaking the real aim of controlling, whenever possible, advances in detecting environmental pollution. Sort of like the educational tv programs sponsors clips by Mobil, DOW, Archer-Daniels, International Paper, etc., which always feature those wonderful scenes of nearly pristine nature presumably the result of the gargantuan efforts made and money spent by these companies who, if they are to be believed, have just about no other interest than to save and improve the environment.
