I think name "zip+" was choosen so "zip2" can be used in the future for a doubling 200MB system, just like "jaz2". IOM is not in a hurry to get 200MB system out yet. What's the purpose? Syquest, Avatar and others are already there. Better to build and expand customer base for 100Mb zip as quick as possible. Mostly by lowering price. I don't think zip+ will be successful. If you go to iom homepage, zip+ information is not prominent. In fact, it's hard to find. It is merely a marketing scheme to inform and comfort customer that this is and will be progress in zip front. The battle for low-end removable storage is not over. When time comes, iom will roll out a 200MB zip2, I hope. --wsun
